Hands-On History Camp set July 9-11

Historic Christ Church & Museum, 420 Christ Church Road, Weems, will hold a Hands-On History Camp July 9 through 11 for ages 7-12.

The camp will convene from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and features a variety of exciting activities related to the history of Christ Church (1735) and colonial Virginia, reported education director and curator Robert Teagle.

Highlights will include colonial brick making, archaeology, quill pen writing, candle making, spinning, muster drilling, silhouette making, clothing and games. Campers must bring their own lunch on July 9 and 10. On July 11, campers will enjoy a pizza party. Lights snacks and water will be provided each day.

All participants must pre-register. The fee is $50 per child. Some scholarships are available.
