Ocean Harvesters, who exclusively harvests menhaden for Omega Protein, celebrated a truly special Atlantic season, according to marketing manager Taylor Deihl. Captain Alan Hinson and crew onboard the F/V Cockrells Creek broke a 34-year-old record this year with a catch totaling over 87 million. The F/V Cockrells Creek crew from left are Jacob Newsome, Adam Crockett, Chad Dameron, Maurice “Van” Morris, Captain Alan Hinson, Nick Cockrell, Lionel Waddy, Michael Newton, Irvin “Mane” Ball, Garland “Lucky” Smith, Carroll Diggs and Larry Landers. Other members are Kadeem Jones, Julio Silva and Tyler Mitchell.
