Farmers Ricky Haynie and his son, P.J. Haynie, recently made donations to Callao and Fairfields volunteer fire departments. Both fire departments are in Northumberland County where the Haynies farm.
“If your field or equipment is on fire, who are you going to call and who responds? Our local volunteer fire departments do,” said Ricky Haynie.
The Haynies have challenged all area farmers to donate to their local fire departments.
Accepting the donations on behalf of their departments, Fairfields VFD president Johnny Beauchamp and Callao VFD Chief David Woolard both expressed gratitude.
