Helping Ukrainian refugees restart their lives in Virginia

The Interfaith Service Council recently partnered with Grace Church Yard Sale to help new Ukrainian refugees restart their lives in the Richmond/Midlothian area. 

“Interfaith and Grace Yard Sale have a longstanding practice of cooperation in support of the community, but this was special,” said Grace Church Yard Sale coordinator Lucia Schoelwer.

“To be able to open our respective warehouses to help these people who were driven from their homes and livelihoods get started on a new life is what our respective missions are all about,” said Schoelwer. 

When alerted about the need, Interfaith board member Susan McKeown called Schoelwer saying “I strongly support helping this family. Between Grace and Interfaith we could really make a difference.”
