Historyland Community Workshop seeks members

Historyland Community Workshop (HCW) is seeking new members to join the group. The first meeting is 10 a.m. Monday, March 6, at the Lancaster Community Library, 16 Town Centre Drive, Kilmarnock.

The group will meet on first and third Mondays through August, then every Monday, to prepare for their annual sale the Saturday before Thanksgiving.

The group works on individual and group crafts and enjoys the fellowship of each other, reported co-president Mary Ann McKay.

HCW evolved from a small group of women who had moved to the Northern Neck in the 1970s and 1980s. They had previously been involved with philanthropic and volunteer services that focused on improving education before moving to the area. In 1987, they sought incorporation as a fully authorized nonprofit organization.

The common thread that continues to draw members to this group is a love of crafts and crafting….
