Charlotte Hollings is a multi-sport athlete who is no stranger to success in both swimming and rowing.
Hollings’ interest in swimming began on a summer age-group team, reported Stripers coach Craig Bauer.
When entering TC Williams High School she joined a rowing team which went on to win scholastic nationals in 1979, 1980 and 1982, said coach Bauer.
She also rowed for the University of Virginia while obtaining her undergraduate degree in history. She earned a spot on two national rowing teams that rowed in the world championships in 1985 and 1994 and won silver and gold, he said.
Upon leaving the University of Virginia, Hollings coached and rowed for Stanford, Boston and Cornell Universities for the next 10 years, continued coach Bauer.
Hollings is co-owner of Calm Waters Rowing, a rowing/sculling camp, in Lancaster. Realizing how much she enjoyed competing and working out with a team she joined The Stripers, a U.S. Masters Swim Team in Kilmarnock…
