KILMARNOCK—The Town of Kilmarnock will host a Hometown Heroes kickoff party from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, October 25, at Commonwealth Senior Living (CSL) at Kilmarnock.
Following tradition, the town will again honor veterans, past and present, in 2019 with banners in the Steptoe’s District designed especially for Kilmarnock.
“Whether from Kilmarnock or another hometown, your hero can be honored on Main Street. Join the over 160 families who have purchased banners of their family members,” said mayor Mae Umphlett.
“Commonwealth Senior Living at Kilmarnock is honored and excited to host and will be providing a wonderful array of hors d’oeuvres and adult beverages. CSL invites everyone to learn more about this program by visiting our community at 460 South Main Street in Kilmarnock,” said executive director Paige Carpenter.
Representatives from the town will explain the program and how families can participate. This will be the first opportunity for individuals to place their orders for the 2019 banners.
“Everyone is encouraged to come,” said Umphlett.
