The Bon Secours Rappahannock General Hospital’s (RGH) Auxiliary board voted March 5 to disband as a formal entity with a board of directors and will move forward as a volunteer services group effective March 31.
The auxiliary’s board also voted to donate the funds in its treasury to the Bon Secours Richmond Health Care Foundation to be used at RGH for scholarships, continuing education or special certifications for the benefit of RGH employees.
“This is natural and positive progression for the hospital’s Auxiliary,” said Judy Baensch, one of the founding board members and long standing volunteer. “By transitioning the organization into the hospital’s volunteer services we are better aligned to meet the needs of the patients, their loved ones and our community. This ensures our founding legacy will continue into the future.”
