The grand evergreen in front of the Old Courthouse, 72 Monument Place, Heathsville, will be lit for the holiday season on Saturday, December 2. The ceremony will start at 4:30 p.m. The public is invited to enjoy caroling, special holiday readings and refreshments. At 5:30 p.m., homes and businesses in the village section of Heathsville will be lighting holiday luminaries along Northumberland Highway. Also in Heathsville on Saturday, Golden Village Christmas will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Rice’s Hotel/Hughlett’s Tavern and the St. Stephen’s Episcopal Oysters & Oldies Christmas Oyster Roast will be held from 12:30-3:30 p.m. at Roanoke Farm.
