Improvements to Lancaster’s unpaved roads ‘doing pretty good’ compared to rest of state

LANCASTER—Virginia Department of Transportation Northern Neck residency administrator Steve McKeever recently outlined the latest six-year plan for Lancaster’s secondary roads.

The plan included a prioritized project list for paving within the county along with funding for the 2020 fiscal year. This funding is for improvements only and does not include regular maintenance such as mowing, patching and snow removal.

Following a related public hearing, the board voted unanimously to adopt the plan. No one other than VDOT and county officials addressed the plan.
