Northumberland aired it out for an impressive 250 yards passing last Friday night in a 64-12 win over Mathews to remain unbeaten in varsity football.
Indians quarterback Mason Adams completed 13-of-20 passes for five touchdowns with no interceptions against the homestanding Blue Devils.
All three of Dionte Kelley’s receptions were for touchdowns, while Cameron Seldon and Derrick Smith caught a TD pass each. Kelley had 49 receiving yards, while Seldon caught three for 74 and Smith caught four for 42. Lamont Rice had two receptions for 34 yards and Denzel Palmer had a 51-yard reception.
Northumberland amassed 389 yards total including 139 on the ground. Kevin Edwards led the rushers with nine carries for 76 and two scores. Nykell Anderson scored on a 19-yard run and Trent Liner carried for a 2-yard TD run.
Adams kept the ball six times for 31 yards and Antwan Mills had two touches for 10 yards.
Indian kicker Harry Lee had eight PAT kicks and one blocked attempt.
Northumberland is 3-0 and will travel to Bruton tomorrow September 27, for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
