Internships help to launch futures

This past summer, the Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Neck (BGCNN) partnered with Northern Neck Insurance (NNI) to provide an internship to high school student James Cook.

He is a junior at Lancaster High School and has been a member of the BGCNN for two years. At the BGCNN, Cook is involved in the Anime Club, Teen Chef, Keystone Club, Career Launch and Money Matters.

Teen Program director Bridell Carter and assistant Teen Program director Richie Carter encouraged Cook to apply for the internship. “I knew James would be perfect for this internship because he is respectful, helpful and eager to learn,” said Bridell Carter.

The Teen Program has been growing under the leadership of both Bridell Carter and Richie Carter. Membership is free….
