Irvington passes revised budget, trims spending, lowers tax rate

IRVINGTON—The Irvington Town Council made some changes before approving its 2019-20 budget on Thursday, June 13. After public hearings on June 6 in which citizens expressed concerns about the real estate tax and discretionary spending, council revised the budget to reduce estimated spending and lower the real estate tax rate.

Council adopted a real estate tax rate of $0.03 per $100 assessed value. This is lower than the originally proposed $0.415 per $100 assessed value, which was revised based on property reassessments by Lancaster County.
