Irvington Planning Commission reorganizes, recommends Christmas tree farm for approval

IRVINGTON—The Irvington Planning Commission on Tuesday, February 1, reorganized.

Tom Chapman was elected chairman, 5-0-1. The post was vacated when former chairman Julie Harris became mayor. Members Albert Pollard Jr., Lee Hood Capps, Phil Robinson, Jeremy Taylor and Brian Forrester voted in favor of electing Chapman, who abstained. Commission member Ruth Fuller arrived to the meeting immediately following the vote.

Chapman moved to elect Forrester vice chairman. The motion passed 6-0-1 with Forrester abstaining.

Zoning administrator Justin Nelson announced a new retail store would soon come to Irvington. A women’s clothing store will be housed in the old post office at 301 Steamboat Road, he said.

Additionally, Forrester reported that representatives from EPR-PC, the firm that has been hired to conduct a town survey and advise the town regarding its comprehensive plan, will tour Irvington and meet with….[to-view-more]
