IRVINGTON—An Irvington resident on Thursday, August 14, called for accountability and action related to alleged violations of a conditional use permit (CUP) issued to Tides Inn.
During public comment at a town council meeting, adjacent property owner Caroline Elliot referenced a CUP originally approved in October 2022 while the inn began its major renovation projects. According to Elliot, the CUP stated that a fence between the two properties be constructed at least five feet onto the Tides Inn’s property with trees, plantings, and bushes planted by the Tides Inn on both sides of the fence.
“As of today, no trees, shrubs or bushes have been planted on our side of the fence. Instead there are weeds, grasses and pokeberry growing,” she said.
