WHITE STONE—Jack Weston Bryant, 83, of White Stone passed away peacefully on May 6, 2022.

He is survived by his two grandsons, James Michael Bryant and Tyler Braiden Kent; granddaughter, Peyton Olivia Herrington; daughter-in-law, Kimberly Bryant-Kent Herrington (Cole); brother, James D. Marks; sister, Charlotte Bevins ; along with many extended family members and close friends that were also family to him.

He was preceded in death by his only son, Michael Todd Bryant; two brothers, Franklin Bryant and John Bryant; and two sisters, Jean Pugh and Carolyn Smith.

Jack was born March 8, 1939, and was a member and deacon of White Stone Baptist Church. He served in the Army, was a former pilot for Zapata Fishing Company in Reedville, a former member of Callao Moose Lodge and finally retired as a tug boat Captain for Blaha Towing Company in Hopewell.

“Captain Jackie B” has navigated his way home and will be missed.

There will be a private graveside service for the family.

Currie Funeral Home LLC of Kilmarnock handled the arrangements.
