James “Jim” Georgiadis

WHITE STONE—James “Jim” Georgiadis, 75, of White Stone passed away on March 12, 2020. Jim was born January 27, 1945, to John and Vana Georgiadis.

Jim graduated from the Detroit Institute of Arts with a degree in commercial art. He went on to study at the Detroit College of Business, graduating with a degree in business administration.

After moving to Chicago, Ill., Jim began his long career in business as a merchandiser for Montgomery Ward with offices in Chicago and New York, moving to Northern Virginia in 1988 to continue his career in the boating industry with Boat America Corp. as the vice president of retail and merchandising for Boat U.S.  Jim retired in 2003 to the Northern Neck where he continued his involvement in the marine industry as president of Home Port Marine Marketing until 2017. 

Throughout his life, Jim enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening and painting, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Jim is survived by his wife, Lynn; daughters, Gretchen Georgiadis (Tony Stangert) and Heidi Williams (Harrison); grandchildren, John Henry and Katherine; and sister, Vickie Vernon.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Helen Bies and Donna Georgiadis. 

A celebration of life will be held at Indian Creek Yacht and Country Club as soon as his family and friends are able to safely gather.
