This month, the Northumberland Public Library said goodbye to library director Cherie Carl and welcomed new director, Jane Blue.
Although Blue moved here from North Carolina, she is no stranger to the area. She and her husband, Jim, a retired Army officer, moved many times during his career. When he landed a long-term post and moved to Woodbridge, they searched for a place away from the suburbs they could enjoy with their three sons. They discovered the Northern Neck and bought a vacation home in Bay Quarter Shores in Heathsville.
