Jennings to perform in Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

Abby Jennings of Reedville will perform in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York November 25.

The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade returns to its Manhattan route this Thanksgiving and Reedville’s own Abby Jennings will be a part of the holiday tradition.

Jennings, a junior at Northumberland High School, has been selected to perform for the 2021 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, November 25, with the Spirit of America dance corps. She will be one of 600 dancers in the parade.

Jennings was chosen to dance in the 2020 parade. However, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2.5-mile route through Manhattan was substituted with events in one block on 34th Street in front of the retailer’s flagship store and some pre-taped performances. So Jennings submitted an application for this year’s parade and was selected again.

“I am ecstatic to be representing the Northern Neck while I get to participate in a such a spectacular event,” said Jennings. “I would love for everyone to be looking for me while they watch….
