HEATHSVILLE—Jesse Steve “Stevie” Thomas Jr., 63, of Heathsville, departed his Earthly life after a long illness on Thursday, December 30, 2021.
Stevie was a lifelong resident of the Northern Neck and worked as a farmer on his family’s farm. He was a member of Coan Baptist Church and was the son of Jesse S. Thomas Sr. and Phyllis Riley Thomas of Heathsville.
Stevie was a hunter with a capital “H.” He enjoyed being out in the woods and loved everything about deer hunting. He loved the land, music and his family. Stevie loved to talk on the phone and chatting with people in general. He was kindhearted, giving, and easily saw the best in people.
Left to cherish Stevie’s memory are his parents; his son, Chris Thomas; his granddaughter, Reghan Thomas; his brother, Todd E. Thomas (Stacy); his sister Deborah T. Bingham (Chris); and his nieces and nephews, Thomas Bingham, Phillip Bingham, Amanda Casebolt, Jessica Thomas and James Thomas.
A memorial service to celebrate Stevie’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 6, 2022, at the Welch Funeral Home-Marks Chapel. The Reverend Lee Farmer will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in Stevie’s memory to either the Mid County Volunteer Rescue Squad, 7990 Northumberland Highway, Heathsville, VA 22473; or to the Callao Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 82, Callao, VA 22435.
