WHITE STONE—Jessica Posch Servis, 85, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 22, 2023, at her home in White Stone.
Born in Pottstown, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Marie Brensinger Posch and sister of the late Isabel Heller and the late Lois Hayes Wood. At an early age, her family moved to Riverside, N.J. Jessica graduated from Palmyra High and the College of New Jersey. While in college, she met her husband, Paul Servis. Paul and Jessica had two daughters, Michele and Renee.
In 1969, the family moved to Silver Spring, Md. Jessica was a devoted stay-at-home mom until the girls started middle school. She continued college and completed a master’s in education from University of Maryland. She taught high school math, and was a home instruction supervisor for Montgomery County schools.
She was a loving wife, mom and grandma. At the age of 13, her daughter Renee was diagnosed with lupus and she died in 1983. Her grandkids brought her lots of joy! She was a great cook, baker, daily crossword puzzle completer, quilter and needlepointer.
After retirement, Jessica and Paul moved to the Northern Neck and built a house on Indian Creek. At the age of 65, Jessica joined a senior swim team. She was active in the community, tutoring students at the Boys & Girls Club and volunteering at the library. She was able to travel the world with her husband. She was an avid supporter of health and wellness, education, local arts and theater.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, Paul; her daughter, Michele Baucom (Mark Jr); her former son-in-law, Robert Notto; and her grandchildren, Anita, Andy and Leo Notto; extended family and many lifelong friends
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 6, at Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Neck, Kilmarnock.
