Jim Duncan to discuss weather history

The Northumberland County Historical Society recently announced a special presentation at 2:30 p.m. April 29 at the Ball Memorial Library and Museum, 86 Back Street, Heathsville.

Jim Duncan will discuss “Weather Forecasting Today: How Clues from the Past Predict the Future of Weather.” This presentation will include how weather forecasting has evolved and what it might be like in the future. Duncan also will mention some information on the historical influence of weather, reported Virginia Burgess.

Duncan is the chief meteorologist at NBC/12, WWBT-TV, in Richmond. His dedication to bringing viewers the most accurate weather reports can be seen weeknights on the 6 and 11 p.m. news programs on Channel 12, where he has worked since 1981.
