SEVERNA PARK, MD—John D. Muncks of Severna Park, Md., passed away peacefully at the Hospice of the Chesapeake on January 20, 2018, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born December 26, 1948, John was the son of the late John and Sally Muncks of Falls Church and Irvington. He was a 1970 graduate of Washington & Lee University and later received an MBA in finance from American University.
John was an executive with a number of locally-owned and managed banks, the most recent of which was Revere Bank, with which he remained active until shortly before his death.
He served on multiple boards during his career. He was a 1992 graduate of Leadership Baltimore and went on to serve as a board member of Baltimore School of the Arts, the RMA Chesapeake Chapter and the Graduate Business School at the University of Baltimore. He later served as an elder for Woods Church in Severna Park.
John is survived by his wife, Cameron; son, John Patrick; uncle, Mitch Alga; and cousins, Jay Alga and Leland James of Irvington, as well as his cousins, David Alga and Mary Ann Alga Sink.
