John W. Dickie

WICOMICO CHURCH—r was called to be with our lord on September 3, 2022, at Regional Memorial Medical Center.

John Was born on December 14, 1932, in Coatbridge, Scotland, to Robert and Margaret Dickie, who preceded him in death. His wife of 65 years, Jean Dickie, also preceded him in death as did his brother, Robert Dickie; and his daughter, Ruby Scherer.

John is survived by his children Robert S. Dickie and J. Gavin Dickie; his son-in-law, Wally Scherer; his grandchildren, John Scherer, Scott Scherer and wife Kelly, Rob Scherer and wife Julie, E. Morgan Dickie and Brooke Dickie. He is called Papa by his two great-grandchildren, Paige Scherer and Hudson Scherer.

John had a successful career in Scotland as a mining engineer then project manager with Ever-Ready Corporation, He went on to work with Personna Razor Blades before immigrating to the U.S. to become production manager at American Safety Razor in Verona. His working career culminated as a nationally recognized management consultant specializing with employee owned companies.

 After his love for his family and his enjoyment of their home on the Chesapeake  Bay his greatest joy was the church community at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Kilmarnock. John found reward in his work as an elder and the fellowship of a loving community.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 17, at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Kilmarnock.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Northumberland County Rescue Squad.
