Northumberland County Public Schools staff and faculty may have had purchase orders denied in recent weeks for what are considered essential materials.
During a Monday, May 4, school board meeting, financial facilitator Karen Pica explained that purchases haven’t arbitrarily been halted as they near the end of the school year, but that a number of requests have been denied due to lack of available funds and the need to fulfill payment for employees.
