HEATHSVILLE—Kathleen Hughes Nowlin, 73, of Heathsville was embraced into the arms of her loving Savior on August 13, 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Kathy was born on March 4, 1948, in Frankfurt, Germany, to Stanley Even Hughes and Ann Harrington Hughes. Kathy’s father was a U. S. Army Officer.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 50 years, John; her loving son, Brian (Becky); and her wonderful sister, Linda (Jon); and many family members and friends.
Kathy was five when her family returned to the states and lived in Maryland. All of her education from pre-school to college was in Maryland.
Kathy loved to teach and for many years also worked in the medical field. Until her illness, she was a tutor with the Lancaster Public Schools.
Following her wishes, she was cremated and service and burial were private.

Kathy was a loving and caring lady to all she met and she will remain in our hearts forever.
