Kenneth F. Holloway Sr.

WEEMS—Kenneth Forrest Holloway Sr., 81, a native of Poquoson and resident of Weems for the past 12 years, passed away at home on Sunday, November 12, 2017.

He was a member of Kilmarnock Baptist Church in Kilmarnock and was a former member of Emmaus Baptist Church in Poquoson where he served as Sunday school superintendent, ordained deacon and member of the men’s chorus. He served in the U.S. Army for 30 years and retired after working for several contractors at N.A.S.A.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Earsie Holloway; brother, Raymond Holloway Jr.; sister, Glenda Holloway; first wife, Jean Berry Holloway; and son, Jamie Holloway Sr.

He is survived by his wife Agnes Joyner Holloway of Weems; children, Kenny Holloway Jr. (Paulette) of Poquoson, Carrie Barringer (Glen) of Red Wing, Minn., William Joyner (Janet) of Lancaster and Wayland Joyner (Tina) of Frederick, Md; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and his beloved dogs, CJ and Big Guy, who filled his life with joy.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. to noon, Friday, November 17, immediately followed by a celebration of Kenneth’s life at noon led by Rev. George V. Insley Jr., all at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, Poquoson. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park, Hampton, with full military honors.

At other times the family will be at his home in Weems, or his son Kenny’s home in Poquoson.
