Kilmarnock town council adopts $8.3 million budget

KILMARNOCK—The Kilmarnock Town Council briefly met Tuesday, June 28, to adopt several ordinances and resolutions, including the fiscal year 2022-23 budget.

By roll call vote, council members Les Spivey, Rebecca Nunn, Emerson Gravatt and Mike Bedell voted in favor of the proposed $8,307,701 budget. Kylie Abbott and Curtis Smith also voted in favor via phone.

Additionally, council unanimously adopted new water and sewer rates for 2022-23. Effective July 1, according to the resolution read by town clerk Cindy Balderson, sewer rates will increase $15 per billing cycle….
