Kilmarnock Town Council considering $12 million budget, increasing water and sewer fees

KILMARNOCK—The Kilmarnock Town Council on Monday held a first reading of a proposed $12,039,383 fiscal year 2024 budget.

Town manager Susan Cockrell elaborated on details of the budget and broke it down into several key sections.

According to Cockrell, the general fund totals $3,419,504. This figure includes revenues from meals tax, cigarette tax, real estate tax and over $100,000 in grants. Expenditures from the general fund include wage increases of 5% for staff members and additional stipend amounts for the council and mayor.
