Kilmarnock Town Council recognizes additional heroes

KILMARNOCK—The Kilmarnock Town Council on Monday, October 21, paid homage to eight former members of the armed services who call Kilmarnock home.

Town manager Susan Cockrell read the names and brief biographies of the newest Hometown Heroes, individuals from Kilmarnock or nearby who appear on the Hometown Heroes banners that were displayed throughout town from late spring to early fall.

According to Cockrell, there was not a preview party of the newest banners in May, so council honored the individuals during the meeting and their families will be included in the next recognition event.
