The Sundays at Two series will continue at 2 p.m. February 22 at the Lancaster Community Library, 16 Town Centre Drive, Kilmarnock. Kimberly Manthy will present “Wildlife 911.”
“For many of us who call the Northern Neck home, whether full or part time, the richness of the wildlife sharing the land, sea and air around us is a big part of the attraction,” said committee member Pat Tracey.
“For my husband and me, it is hard to match the feeling of finding a herd of deer sleeping on our lawn when we drive in late at night, or the special connection when a hummingbird hangs out in front of your face, reminding you to chase the wasps away from the feeder. Or hearing the heron’s squawk as it returns to its nest up the creek on a summer’s evening,” said Tracey. “Few of us, however, are prepared when we encounter an orphaned, sick or injured….
