King celebration slated for Jan. 18

Angel Visit Baptist Church will host the 32nd annual Essex County Community Celebration of the Life and Work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by Zoom at 7 p.m. Monday, January 18.

The theme of the celebration will be “Stand Up for Justice.” Dr. King’s message and the lessons that he taught resonate now more than ever in the aftermath of the many watershed events of 2020 and 2021, reported Michael Gresham. This year’s celebration provides a particular opportunity to reflect on the work that still needs to be done in pursuit of Dr. King’s vision for a “beloved community.”
