Senior Matthew Kleinfelter, who has a 7-1 record with 59 strikeouts this season, was named the Northern Neck District’s baseball player of the year last week and earned a spot on the all-district first team as catcher.
Lancaster secured three first team spots with Kleinfelter named as pitcher and first-team third baseman. Junior Nick Wohleking was also named a first team pitcher and senior Spencer Crittenden was named the first-team designated player.
Kleinfelter, who will play baseball for Division 1 James Madison University next year, pitched 41 innings this season with five shutouts, including three complete game shutouts and one no hitter. He led the team with a .450 batting average…
