The varsity Lady Devils picked up wins over Northumberland and Rappahannock last week to improve to 6-3 in the Northern Neck District.

Lancaster is 13-7 overall with a remaining regular season game tonight, February 7, at Essex. The district tournament semifinals are Monday, February 11. The tournament championship game will be played at 6 p.m. Wednesday, February 13, at LHS. Barring any major upsets, Lancaster should finish third and travel to second seeded Rappahannock Monday, while top ranked Washington & Lee will host fourth place Essex.

Lancaster beat both the Lady Indians and the Lady Raiders last week. The Lady Devils won by 26 points over Northumberland Monday night, 60-34, and by 18 against Rappahannock last Thursday, 63-45.

Against RHS, Lancaster took a 24-11 lead at the half and then ended strong with a 26-18 run in the fourth quarter to open up a 10-point third-quarter lead.

Nealasia Redmond scored 16 points, including 13 in the second half, to lead three double digit scorers for LHS. Abria Jackson added 13 points and did most of her work in the middle quarters, scoring seven of Lancaster’s 12 in the second quarter. Khalia Harding spread out 11.

The Lady Devils helped themselves at the foul line, hitting 58% or 19-for-33 of their free shots.

Savannah Goodman scored 13 and Rilee Baughan 12 to lead Rappahannock.
