Lady Devils defeat Middlesex, 5-4, in girls tennis match

Angelina Smith and Venieka Muirhead came through with a big 8-6 doubles win to clinch an opening season win for Lancaster, 5-4, over Middlesex on Thursday, March 19.

“Smith was key. Her athletic ability to run down balls and come from behind in her singles match set the state for the Lady Red Devils to have a chance to win,” said LHS coach George Christoforatos.

Smith won her singles match, 8-4, after being down, 1-3 and 2-4.

The Lancaster duo of Izzy Dew and Miette Wolfe competed well but lost to a solid number two doubles….
