Lady Devils finish as runner-up in Battle of the Bay Invitational

Lancaster capped a busy week Saturday, playing five matches in one day to finish as the gold bracket runner-up in the Battle of the Bay Volleyball Invitational hosted by Middlesex High School.

The Lady Devils, after falling in a tie-breaker, 3-2, to Middlesex on September 15, picked up five straight wins—including one over the Chargers—before falling to Peninsula Catholic in the tournament final to bring their record to 7-4.

Lancaster went 4-1 in the invitational September 20, sweeping Colonial Beach, Christchurch and Northumberland, 2-0, each and beating Middlesex, 2-1, to advance to….
