
Northumberland’s Lady Indians shut out three teams last week to end regular season soccer play in first-place in the Northern Neck District with a record of 11-1-2.
The Lady Indians last week posted 8-0 wins over both Lancaster and Arcadia and a 3-0 win over second-place Washington & Lee.
Against the Lady Indians, Tahi Wiggins led the NHS scorers with two goals. Cameron Lewis, McKensey Smithart, Abby Kiss, Alice Sisson, Daisey Ramirez and Addie Swisher scored a goal each. Kiss also had three assists.
Lewis scored two goals and Sisson scored once to lead NHS over Washington & Lee.
Lewis led the shooters with eight shots on goal and Wiggins and Sisson took three shots each.
Swisher had six saves in goal and Erin Burgess led the defense with five takeaways.
Northumberland outshot Arcadia, 19-3, and got a hat trick from Hannah Loving in the final regular season game.
MacKenzie Osborne, Shannon Chapman, Ramirez and Lewis scored a goal each.
Lewis holds the school’s single-season scoring record with 18 goals.
Northumberland was scheduled to host Lancaster in a district tournament semifinal game May 16. The winner will advance to the tournament championship game tonight, May 17, at Washington & Lee.
