Colonial Beach took its first lead with 48 seconds remaining then had a crucial interception in the end zone with 15 seconds left to dampen the Lancaster homecoming celebration. The Drifters improved to 3-3 with a 20-16 Northern Neck District opening win over the Red Devils.

Lancaster is 1-5 after a forfeit from Charles City in its season opener and is still looking for its first win in competition. The Devils travel to Northumberland tomorrow, October17, for the Indians homecoming game.
Last Friday, Colonial Beach scored the winning touchdown on a 42-yard pass from Zachary Papanicolas to Chris Warren after trailing since midway through the first quarter when Lancaster’s Antonio Tomlin blocked a punt and landed on the ball in the end zone. A few spin moves by Porter Pittman on the two-point conversion gave Lancaster an 8-0 lead.
