Hailey Smith finished fifth in the 500-meter dash and 16th in the 100-meter run last weekend to lead Lancaster’s participants at The Virginia Showcase 2022.
Hundreds of teams from Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, New York and as far away as Florida participated in the three-day indoor track meet January 14-16 at the Virginia Beach Sports Center.
Smith’s season best time of 1:22 garnered her fifth place among 71 runners in the 500 meter and her time of 3:11.13 put her in 16th place out of 101 runners in the 1000 meter.
