LANCASTER—The Lancaster County Circuit Court convened Friday, September 6, with the Hon. R. Michael McKenney presiding.
In the case of Gregory A. Pratt of Warsaw, charged with four felony counts for violating probation on felony offenses and two misdemeanor counts for violating probation on misdemeanor offenses, a second bond hearing is set for September 13. Meanwhile, Judge McKenney will take the bond request under advisement.
Wanda G. Dawson of White Stone, charged with one felony count for embezzling public funds, pled no contest. Disposition has been deferred until September 2020, pending payment of restitution in the amount of $3,475.44 to Lancaster General District Court.
In the case of Purcell O. Owens of Mollusk, charged with misdemeanor violation of probation on a misdemeanor offense, and ordered to pay restitution in 2014, a review hearing was scheduled for October 25.
The case of Sharon K. Pelkey of Weems, charged with nine felony counts for violating probation on felony offenses, was continued by defense for a hearing on October 11.
Steve E. Robinson of Lancaster was found guilty of aggravated sexual assault of a victim less than 13 years old in June, but health problems have prevented him from turning himself in to begin his serving his sentence. Robinson was sentenced to 10 years, seven of which were suspended.
James A. Boyd of Lancaster, charged with felony DWI, third in five years, with blood alcohol content between .15 and .20 and one misdemeanor count for driving on a suspended license, pled guilty to both counts. He was sentenced to five years, with four years and 275 days suspended and probation of two years upon release. He also was charged with two misdemeanors for failing to stop and failing to surrender license/registration. Both of those charges were nolle prossed.
