On Thursday, November 10, and Friday, November 11, everyone is welcome to visit the Lancaster Community Library to honor veterans.
Patriotic stickers will be distributed, and the Kilmarnock Post of the VFW will provide Buddy Poppies to wear and to honor those who have served. Red, white and blue cupcakes will be distributed as well.
“The library has just completed its five-year strategic plan,” said director Alice Cooper. “We learned that 10% of the adults in Lancaster County are veterans, while the national average is 5%. This is the starting point for our veterans initiatives and we anticipate partnering with many organizations and veterans on future activities and programs.”
The library is open from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. on Thursdays and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Fridays. To get involved in future veterans programs, call the library at 435-1729.
