LANCASTER—The Lancaster County Circuit Court convened Friday, October 19, with the Hon. R. Michael McKenney presiding.
The case of Ana C. Carillo of Gloucester, charged with a felony probation violation, was continued for a show cause hearing November 30.
The trial of Marvin W. Davenport Jr., no address listed, charged with a felony of second degree murder in the 2010 death of Jasmine Smith at a yard party in Nuttsville, will be rescheduled. He also is charged with the felonies of use of a firearm, shooting in commission of a felony and transporting a weapon as a violent offender. A jury trial was set for November 7-9; however, a new date has yet to be determined.
Rosa M. Turner of Smithfield, charged with two felony probation violations, was sentenced to six years with six years suspended.
The case of Tikesha L. Taylor of Lancaster, charged with a felony of child abuse, was dismissed.
Mitrada D. Burns of Kilmarnock, charged with two misdemeanor probation violations, was sentenced to 12 months with 11 months and 28 days suspended in one of the charges and she was not prosecuted at the time of trial in the other charge.
Josaline Murphy of Lancaster, charged with three felonies of assault on a law enforcement officer and two counts of violating a pretrial release, was found guilty of an amended misdemeanor charge of assault and battery and was sentenced to 12 months with 10 months suspended. Murphy was not prosecuted at the time of trial in the pretrial release charges.
Ralph J. Gross of Lancaster, charged with a felony of aggravated sexual battery, pled guilty to an amended misdemeanor charge of sexual battery. He was sentenced to 12 months with 12 months suspended and three years of probation.
