LANCASTER—The Lancaster County Circuit Court convened Friday, October 20, with the Hon. R. Michael McKenney presiding.
In the case of Alkendra S. Coleman of Mollusk, given a deferred disposition on a felony for distributing to accommodate a Schedule I/II substance and a felony for violating probation, a hearing on those charges as well as a bond hearing was scheduled for January 26.
In the case of Vaughan O. Coleman Sr. of Lancaster, appealing a Juvenile & Domestic Relations Court bond denial, bond was granted. A hearing on the two felony charges of violating probation was scheduled for January 26.
Monterra T. Cottrell, no address given, charged with four felonies for failing to appear, failed to appear. A capias was issued and he was charged with four additional felonies for violating probation.
In the case of Ernest E. Adams of Heathsville, charged with three felonies for selling/providing a Schedule I/II substance, a trial was continued when Adams needed a new attorney. A trial is to be set October 27.
In the case of Kai R. Renton of Lottsburg, charged with a felony for taking advance pay greater than $200 without performing work and a misdemeanor working without a contractor license, a trial was continued and is to be set October 27.
In the case of Daryl C. Mitchell of Kilmarnock, previously found not guilty by reason of insanity of a felony for assault on a law enforcement officer with malicious injury; a felony for assault on a law officer; two felonies for a prisoner assault on employees; two felonies for violating probation; and a misdemeanor for trespassing after being forbidden; a status hearing is scheduled for November 17.
