LANCASTER—The Lancaster County Circuit Court convened Friday, September 5, with the Hon. John S. Martin presiding.

In the case of Alkendra S. Coleman of Lancaster, charged with two felonies for violating probation, a show cause hearing was continued by defense motion until September 19.

In the case of Troy G.V. Allen of Weems, charged with a felony for malicious wounding, a trial was continued by prosecution motion until October 10.

Kennie L. Belvin of Richmond pleaded guilty to a felony for eluding/disregarding police, a felony for child abuse, disregard for life, and a misdemeanor for driving without a license. A sentencing hearing was scheduled for October 24. Belvin also was charged with a misdemeanor for DWI, first offense, but found not guilty on that charge.

Travis C. Veney of Weems, appealing a General District Court misdemeanor conviction for DWI, first offense, was found guilty and given a 90-day suspended sentence with 12 months of probation. He was ordered to pay $250 in fines and $316 in court costs and his driver’s license was suspended for 12 months.
