LANCASTER—The Lancaster County Circuit Court convened Friday, November 21, with the Hon. John S. Martin presiding.
In the case of Jerkese R. Ball of Lancaster, charged with two felonies for selling/possessing with intent to sell/distribute a Schedule I/II substance, third offense, a status hearing was scheduled for January 23.
In the case of Justin W. Wilmouth of Lancaster, charged with a felony for violating probation, a trial is to be set December 19.
In the case of Clinton R. Chewning of Weems, charged with a felony for violating probation, the charge was dismissed.
In the case of Demond W. Scott of Richmond, charged with six felonies for violating probation, a status hearing was scheduled for January 9.
In the case of Christopher L. Goins Jr. of Mollusk, charged with a felony for violating probation, bond was granted and a status hearing was scheduled for January 23.
In the case of Daryl C. Mitchell of Kilmarnock, previously found not guilty by reason of insanity of a felony for assault on a law enforcement officer with malicious injury; a felony for assault on a law officer; and two felonies for a prisoner assault on employees; a review hearing is scheduled for November 20, 2026.
In the case of Rodney E. Wiggins Jr. of Mollusk, previously found not guilty by reason of insanity for attempted first degree murder; shooting a firearm from a vehicle and shooting into an occupied building; a status hearing was scheduled for November 20, 2026.
Reminder, those charged with alleged crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
