LANCASTER—The Lancaster County Circuit Court convened Friday, June 26, with the Hon. R. Michael McKenney presiding.
In the case of Shawn E. Jones of White Stone, charged with a felony for violating conditions of pretrial release, a trial is scheduled for September 4.
In the case of Dari’k J. Reed of Weems, charged with a felony for violating probation, a status hearing was scheduled for July 24.
In the case of Derek A. Shipman of Lancaster, charged with a DWI, first offense; the charge was dismissed.
In the case of Ana C. Carrillo of Dutton, charged with a felony for violating probation, a show cause hearing was scheduled for September 18.
In the case of Edward F. Moriarty of Heathsville, charged with a misdemeanor for non-compliance with Virginia Alcohol Safety Action Program (VASAP), probation was revoked and he was sentenced to 90 days, all of which were suspended and ordered to pay $112 in court costs.
In the case of William C. Ashburn of Lancaster, appealing a General District Court misdemeanor conviction for reckless driving, 20 mph or more over the speed limit, a trial was scheduled for August 7.
In the case of Shardeja A. Brooks of Warsaw, appealing a General District Court misdemeanor conviction for shoplifting/altering merchandise, a trial was scheduled for August 7.
In the case of Kelly J. Jaf-Wilson of Leesburg, appealing a General District Court misdemeanor conviction for shoplifting/altering merchandise, a trial was scheduled for August 21.
In the case of Phillip W.T. Cundiff of White Stone, appealing a General District Court misdemeanor conviction for driving under a revoked/suspended license, a trial was scheduled for August 21.
In the case of Louis C. Johnson Jr. of Lancaster, charged with felonies for malicious wounding and use of a firearm in a felony, first offense; he was found not guilty by reason of insanity. A review hearing is scheduled for September 25.
