Lancaster Freedom places in Softball Nation Fall Opener

The Lancaster Freedom 12U Girls Fastpitch Softball Team on September 8 was the Bronze Bracket Runner Up among 22 teams at the Softball Nation Fall Opener in Chesterfield.

The girls went 2 and 1 in pool play with wins over the Virginia Legends Frietager of Charlottesville, 5-4, and The Ashburn Comets of Ashburn, 14-6. The teams only loss in pool play came to the Loudon Liberty Blue of Loudon County, 8-7.

The girls have worked very hard this entire year up to this point, said head coach Jeff Willis. “This is a great start to the fall season. Everyone from the parents to the coaches to the players make this program happen. Way to go team!” he said.
