Lancaster High golfers open season play against Mathews and New Kent

The first of the Lancaster High School fall sports officially got underway last week as the Red Devils golf team opened the season at home against Mathews High School and New Kent High School. The LHS home course is the Golden Eagle Golf Course in Irvington.

The Devils are off to a 1-1 start after beating the Mathews Blue Devils by 24 strokes at the Golden Eagle on Wednesday, August 14.

Isaac Hernandez shot a 39 on nine holes to lead Lancaster’s four scorers in the season opening win, 191-215, over Mathews.

Tyler Brent, playing in the number one spot, shot a 42, while Thomas Major shot a 53 and Ashby Russell a 57 to complete the card….
