For nearly four decades, the Lions International Peace Poster Contest has given children, ages 11-13, an opportunity to share what peace means to them through art.
Each year, Lions clubs around the world sponsor the contest in schools and youth groups, giving young people an opportunity to be recognized at local and international levels and awarded a grand prize of $5,000 for their creativity in sharing their vision of the current theme.
The Lancaster County Lions Club recently presented awards to the winners of its 2025 Peace Poster Contest, reported Lion Jim Ward. The first-place winner was Tinsley Walters, grade 6.
Posters from all student participants were displayed in the Lancaster Community Library and members of the public were invited to vote. The people’s choice winner was Zoe Hudnall, grade 6.
The schedule for the 2026 contest will be posted at the beginning of next school year.
