Lancaster museum announces special hours, events

The Lancaster Virginia Historical Society-Mary Ball Washington Museum, 8346 Mary Ball Road, Lancaster, recently announced the addition of special Saturday hours June 2, June 23, July 7, July 28, and August 4 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the public to view the exhibit “Lancaster in World War I: Home Front to Battle Front.”

The exhibit also will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays through August 17, reported executive director Karen Hart. A $5 donation is requested for admission.

During museum hours, visitors also can browse the museum shop and tour the gardens, grounds, 1797 Clerk’s Office and 1820s Old Jail outbuildings. Hours for the genealogy and research library may differ, said Hart.
